Ontario is California's fourth most populous city and is located thirty-five miles northeast of Los Angeles. Serving as the gateway to Southern California, it offers heaps of things to do and see. History of Ontario

Before the European colonization, the region was settled by the Neutral Nation before  the Iroquois Confederacy. French were the first European settlers. Cornelius Winney and "Black Joe" Hodges were the first permanent settlers in present-day Ontario. In 1789, they built a log cabin store used for trading purpose with the Native American community.

In the early 19th century, a main agent of the Holland Company, Joseph Ellicot, designed a grid and radial street system. The streets branch out from downtown and this by far is one of only three radial street designs in the United States. Ontario grew with a flourishing economy. The steel and grain mills draw many immigrants from around the world.

The estimated population of Ontario, as of 2010 census report was 163,924. The city's ethnic composition include 51.0% White, 5.2% Asian, 6.4% African American, 1.0% Native American and 31.3% from some other races.
